I realized when I was talking about the decorative lights being put around the porch on the north side of the store and cutting off low hanging branches from the tree next to it, I said we’re getting ready to put up the lights and trim the tree….ha. Makes you think of a certain holiday coming up soon doesn’t it ha ha!!

The special every Wednesday is
the Wildcat Wednesday that’s an Oilfield term for those who know, you know ❤️ that means you make up your own special. Choose any sandwich, any side, and any drink for a dollar off your purchase! Thursday through Saturday this week I will be having different hours - Thursday 11 to 2, Friday 11 to 8 with live entertainment from 6 to 8 and Saturday 8 AM to 2 PM! I’m serving biscuits and gravy at 8 o’clock. I am hosting a pop-up market that day  Saturday, October 3, 2026 -Come on up and see what you can’t live without! I have several vendors signed up and there will be homemade items - jewelry, purses, etc., and an engraving artist will be here, and a lot of things from our closets. 😁 See ya!

Dusty gave us a shot of how the lights look after sunset. He and Jerry put them up. ❤️I also want to give Amy recognition for putting the other string lights up a few years ago and she even donated them! Thank you very much, Amy. She also took them down so we could put the new ones up!❤️

Getting lights put up and the tree trimmed  at the Oilfield store today. Thank you so much Jerry and Dusty! ❤️. We will be spruced up for the pop-up market this Saturday on October 3 (almost 10 venders signed up - come on over if you didn’t get signd up- plenty of room) and the Car-cruise in on November 7!

There they are ——fresh pecan pies, ready to go into the oven. The Oilfield store Café will also have coconut cream, raisin, iron skillet apple and cherry berry blend pies available today. The post about our 105-year-old visitor named Mary Lee Ross reminded me of the “Oilfield tool house” that was just a few yards north of the Oilfield store on the west side of the road. I remember it growing up, but no one lived there when I remembered the building. It was called the “Mary Lee Tool House” so her name brought back some fond memories of that ❤️

Mary Lee Ross made her yearly visit to Oilfield today with Cheryl and Dan or maybe it’s Dan flood, her children. She’s 105 and still lives at home. Her children live around her and check on her every day! Then we had visitors from Williston, North Dakotah- Pam and Gregg driving their Winnebago vehicle! they gave us a tour inside. It was really neat! We talked about Oil and the Oil booms! North Dakota was a very, very big Oil boom area in 2010. I believe he said that they rank as number one or two as the nations biggest Oil production these days. I said Oilfield Illinois was right up there with the same story around 1900 to 1930! It was so nice to visit with both of these families. It has been a blessed day!
