Sassool rebranded on Mother’s Day, May 11, 2014 to honor the owner's mother, Cecilia, for the authentic recipes that she brought with her when she immigrated from Lebanon with her family to Raleigh in the 1970s. The name of the restaurant, Sassool, is the nickname that Cecilia was called by her father when she was a child.

We had a blast participating in Cary Art Daze last weekend. This festival always impresses us with the amount of artists that come to showcase their work— and the creativity and talent that these individuals use to make art and hand crafted goods.
We had an amazing festival team this year working all day long and we also want to thank the amazing people who stopped by to enjoy some fresh eats!

Today we celebrate a very special woman who has left her imprint on our menu, our inspiration and our “why”. Cecilia “Sassool” Saleh’s birthday was August 6th, and each year we celebrate all week long by promoting some of her core recipes on our menu (The Sassool Platter) as well as market sampling and celebrating with hospitality as she did every day.
Some of the recipes on our menu that we can attribute to her —

Stuffed grape leaves
Tatziki
We get to tell her story through our menu every day and we are so grateful for the legacy that she created by exemplifying hospitality to her children and grandchildren during her life.
