As House Oversight Committee Chair, Jay will discuss his findings involving state departments, including the DNR, and his recommendations for change.

Hunting and fishing are a way of life for Michigan families. John James and Jay DeBoyer understand the importance of protecting these traditions for the next generation. Let’s make our voices heard!

I was up in the Bay City area this week knocking on doors with my good friend and fellow State Representative, Timmy Beson, and other legislators. It was a great opportunity to connect with voters, hear their concerns, and discuss the issues facing Michigan families and communities.
With just 19 days until Election Day, be sure to get out and vote on November 3!

Sportsmen across the state fill the woods every fall. We fill the lakes every summer. And we fill the DNR’s budget year-after-year. Yet when the time comes to make our voices heard, too many of us choose to stay home.

Politicians are constantly introducing bills that hurt our enjoyment of the outdoors. SB 276 would jack up the price of hunting and fishing licenses, and is halfway to the Governor's desk. Proposals to restrict or ban bear baiting are popping up at the state and the federal levels. Just last month, HB 6345 was introduced, which would ban the sale and use of lead sinkers and jigs.

When sportsmen don’t show up at the polls, politicians feel free to treat us like an ATM instead of a constituency. Michigan has hundreds of thousands of licensed hunters and anglers. If even a solid fraction of us voted like our seasons, our access, and our wallets depended on it, we could swing elections state wide.

We could stop fee hikes that price kids and working families out of the outdoors. We could demand science-based management. We could protect our heritage instead of watching it get nickel-and-dimed to death. If you are or you know know a hunter or angler who doesn't vote, now is the time to get involved.

Register. Make a plan. Show up. Vote like your outdoor heritage is on the ballot. Because it is.

Hunting, fishing and our outdoor traditions are a way of life for families across the Thumb and throughout Michigan. Protecting the rights of sportsmen and women and ensuring these traditions are passed on to the next generation must remain a priority.

John James understands the importance of protecting our outdoor heritage and will stand with Michigan’s hunters, anglers and sportsmen.

I’m proud to support John and will be out across the Thumb putting up signs this week. Vote John James by November 3!

It was great meeting with representatives from The Salvation Army during their Advocacy Day at the Capitol. I appreciated the opportunity to learn more about the work they are doing to serve families and strengthen communities across Michigan.

Today, I had a great meeting with Emma King from Churchill Downs to discuss the future of horse racing in Michigan and opportunities to support and grow the industry across our state. I appreciate Emma taking the time to share her insights and discuss this important part of Michigan’s agricultural economy.

Nearly 400,000 Michigan Hunters and Fishermen/women did NOT vote in Michigans Primary elections this year! It is crucial to our hunting and fishing communities that we make our voices heard!

🐾🇺🇸 KNOW WHERE THEY STAND. THEN GO VOTE. 🇺🇸🐾

Nearly 400,000 Michigan Hunters and Fishermen/women did NOT vote in Michigans Primary elections this year! It is crucial to our hunting and fishing communities that we make our voices heard!

For generations, hunting, hounds and the outdoors have been part of Michigan’s heritage — and the decisions made by our elected officials can affect the traditions we care about.

🎯Before you cast your ballot, do your homework.

🎯Know where the candidates on YOUR ballot stand on the issues that matter to Michigan’s hunting community — hunting and sporting-dog traditions, conservation, access to public lands, wildlife management and the future of our outdoor heritage.

We aren’t here to tell you who to vote for.

‼️ We ARE asking you to be informed, understand the issues, and SHOW UP AND VOTE ‼️

🐾 Know the issues.
🦌 Know the candidates.
🇺🇸 Make your voice heard.

Our heritage deserves an informed voice at the ballot box.

Today, we remember the nearly 3,000 lives lost on September 11, 2001, and honor the first responders and everyday Americans who showed extraordinary courage in the face of tragedy.

May we never forget those we lost, the heroes who answered the call, and the unity our nation showed in the days that followed.

We will never forget.
