According to Carmel’s historic survey, brothers Gunnar and Niels Reimers grew up in the cottage that is now home to Treehouse Cafe.

In 1977, they hired architect Olof Dahlstrand to remodel their family home as part of Stonehouse Terrace.

Today, you can settle in beneath the oak branches, surrounded by red umbrellas, knowing this spot was someone’s home long before it became your lunch destination.

Next time you are wandering Carmel, come upstairs. Bring your appetite, oh…and your dog :)
