As you may or may not know, my 17 year relationship with my sons mother has come to an end. This has effected every aspect of my life immensely, including Cafe Lilah. It has been a rough year dealing with that, construction of my building by myself, and trying to still be the best goddamn father to my son I could be. That being said, it pains me to inform everyone that the cafe lilah project is going on an extended hiatus. You may or may not see us in the future, I can’t tell you for sure. The only thing I do know is I am forever grateful for all of the love and support from every single person who walked into our establishment, and I am going to be spending a lot more time focusing on the most important part of my life…my son, Samuel Jacob.

It’s been a minute since posting, but with the help of an awesome engineer, Peter DiMarco, we finally have all our building permits! Made some progress this week. It’s hard to tell from the crappy picture, but the foundation is nearly dug, should have forms set by the end of the week. I’m moving as quickly as I have the ability to. And the second pic is my 5 month old, because he’s just so goddamn adorable 🥰

Ok, I know I said I’d update a long time ago, but this entire process has been a “learning experience” to put it politely…that being said: FINALLY starting work. We have gotten a couple permits so far, and will update as we progress! Thanks everyone who’s been helping/working/patiently waiting! We got that dilapidated portion down so we can build new for everyone! During cleanup today, I got a little helper!

Sooooo…the NEW Cafe Lilah location is officially purchased!! It’s a wonderful blank slate for all the new things to come! Work begins TOMORROW!!! I’ll be posting progress regularly! Justine, Baby Samuel (almost), and I hope to see everyone again soon!

So as many of you may notice, our sign is coming down today, WE ARE MOVING! We are currently just waiting for the closing on the building in Carbondale. You should see us back open within a month or two, new location, new features, and a meal prep service! Olyphant has been good to us since we opened in 2017, and I can’t thank the community enough for giving us that opportunity to serve the best damn food I could possibly serve. This move is going to be the start of many more Great things to offer it’s our local communities!

So, good news, my one employee is back from quarantine and healthier than ever! Bad news, the other ones quit the day before reopening. I’m sorry, but we will be closed till I can get a staff or figure something else out. I will keep you updated

Ok, so we are temporarily closed. I apologize for not posting earlier. I can absolutely say There has been NO COVID in the business, that being said half the staff is quarantined, so until I can find replacements, we are closed until they all test negative. Read further for more detailed Info.

A staff members family member had tested positive for Covid at school. On Thursday the entire staff including myself was tested and we all came back negative. I can post the results if need be. So that’s how I can assure you that nothing was in the building. That employee has not been back in the building at all since, they have to stay home in quarantine with their family member, then ended up testing positive themselves at home. So it extended our down time to mid April.. I apologize for any inconvenience but I can not have our customers and staff receive any sub par service/safety/anything. I decided we were just closed until everyone is recovered and there is no chance of anyone bringing it to work. Thank you all for your understanding.
