CVLDC Awards $5,000 Micro-Grant to The Little Book Store

Cape Vincent, NY — September 18, 2026 — The Cape Vincent Local Development Corporation (CVLDC) is pleased to announce the award of a $5,000 Micro-Grant to Rebecca Kinnie, owner of The Little Book Store / Bed & Breakfast, to fund the installation of an enclosed, year-round, ACA-compliant accessible ramp.

The new ramp will provide safe, convenient access to both The Little Book Store and its Bed & Breakfast, making the local business more accessible to individuals using wheelchairs, walkers, strollers, and other mobility devices.
The project represents an important investment in accessibility while enhancing the experience for residents and visitors who want to enjoy the businesses and services offered in downtown Cape Vincent.

“Projects like this demonstrate how a relatively small investment can make a meaningful difference in our community,” said Dave Snow, Secretary of the Cape Vincent Local Development Corporation. “Improving accessibility allows more people to participate in and enjoy the businesses that make Cape Vincent a special place to live, work, and visit.”

The award is part of the CVLDC’s $20,000 Micro-Grant Fund, which provides grants of up to $5,000 to nonprofits, small businesses, community groups, and individuals for projects that strengthen local economic development and improve quality of life.

The Micro-Grant Fund was established to support grassroots efforts that:
· Encourage small-business growth and entrepreneurship
· Support workforce training and skill development
· Enhance neighborhood revitalization and beautification
· Promote arts, culture, and educational programming with economic impact

The CVLDC is proud to support projects that address practical community needs while strengthening Cape Vincent’s local business environment and quality of life.
