Hello everyone! Hope you’re having a lovely week! This Saturday brings another themed menu at the bake shop—Autumn in New York.
If you’re anything like us, this is the season we love to throw on You’ve Got Mail and listen to old tunes that croon about the magic of autumn in New York. This menu was made in that spirit, and we’re delighted to share it with you! We might also have an exciting layer cake bonus item in store 👀…see you soon!

The warm, kind and beautiful souls of The Speakeasy Coffee Shop & Cafe and Canal Creative have been such a gift to our community, and I feel over the moon for the opportunity to “pop up” at Speakeasy/Canal Creative this Saturday! Our hours for baked goods will be 8am-noon, and it will be great to be housed in a cozy location with oodles of wonderful (and fall-themed!) beverage options.

I have a feeling it will be a most joyful day bursting with good energy, and we look forward to seeing you there! 🤗

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for such an amazing Gilmore Girls Day last week. What a special day that was! I was so moved to see the amount of people who chose to spend their Saturday morning with us, thank you so much for that.

As for this Saturday, apologies that the menu for is coming a little late! Certainly free to pre-order through tomorrow for that reason! The items we’re most excited about: maple walnut scone, pumpkin spice donut and bear claw cake. Welcome, autumn. 🍂

Another feature for Gilmore Girls Day—Stacy’s Card Shop! It has been the most tremendous delight to have our friend and shop regular Stacy share her artistic talents with the shop. All of her cards are illustrated and painted totally by hand! They’re the most darling designs with the sweetest little notes inside—charming beyond measure. Here’s a sneak preview of the special cards she generated for the festivities this Saturday! 🥹

As we gear up for Saturday, I’m eager for the Town Troubadour to make his debut! A regular of the shop and a dear friend, it’s a massive gift to have Eric’s talents as Town Troubadour grace the shop for Gilmore Girls day. Hopefully this will be the first of many performances around town! Can’t wait to hear him play “There She Goes” to officially kick off the day!

Very exciting news! It’ll be Gilmore Girls Day at the shop this Saturday! I’m eager to share the menu with you all tomorrow—whether you’re a fan of the show or someone who simply appreciates ringing in the fall season, there will be something for everyone.

“The Town Troubadour” will provide live music playing a lovely mix of Gilmore Girls hits and folk favorites, and Stacy has illustrated the sweetest autumn-themed cards for her little “Stacy’s Card Shop” nook. More details to come as the week unfolds, but for now—please do spread the word to all the Gilmore Girls fans in your life to mark their calendars for this Saturday! 🍂

Hello! Saturday’s menu is up! The noon closing time worked great last week—plenty of items to choose from all the way to the end, and I’m hopeful we can maintain that rhythm for you all. We’re also excited to offer some pantry-style items this season—this week’s being granola and homemade dog biscuits!

Lastly, I stumbled upon a quote this week that I thought I’d share in case it resonates:

Isn’t that lovely? Good reminder that we can carry it all, from grief to gratitude, and be all the stronger for it. Have a great week, everyone!

Hello! The menu for this Saturday the 12th is already up and running! I gave the website a bit of a facelift (the-monastic-home.com), so I’ll also leave the menu here since it looks a bit different than usual. 🙂

This Saturday begins an official change in hours—9am until noon rather than until sold out. I hope the change provides greater clarity, and we’ll aim to remain stocked enough so that anyone who comes to the shop won’t have to leave empty-handed!

I hope everyone had a lovely, restful long weekend! We’ll be excited to see you Saturday!

I don’t know about you all, but I’m eager for autumn to announce its arrival with cooler temperatures and changing leaves. Alas, summer remains upon us! This week’s menu has us dipping our toes into the cinnamon brown sugary-ness of fall, resisting the urge to fully dive into apple and pumpkin. Soon enough! You can find the full menu at our website (linked in the profile), and you’re welcome to pre-order.

As for next week, we’ll be closed for Labor Day weekend. The week after that, we’ll begin a slight tweak in our hours. We’ll have an official closing time of noon rather than closing upon selling out—and we’ll try our best to be sure things are stocked up enough to take us to that noon closing time! I hope the change brings clarity to anyone who might want to swing by but doesn’t know if we’ll be open—I hate to think of anyone making the effort to come only to discover a locked door!

We’ll be glad to see you Saturday, and wishing you a happy week in the meantime!
