Please join us in formally congratulating Chef Yanni on his new role as Sous Chef at Pammy’s! ⚡️♥️
Yanni grew up in his family’s restaurant in the Outer Banks of North Carolina. No stranger to hospitality, Yanni’s deep restaurant roots stretch through many members of his family. Growing up in the industry, Yanni started as a dishwasher in his parents’ pizza restaurant. He then worked his way through the front of house as a host, cashier, and eventually server, but he was always drawn to the kitchen– whether it was the heat, the smell, the camaraderie, the noise, or the intensity. Yanni was always in the kitchen at home with his mother or by his father’s side at the grill. By the time he was 11, he made it onto the line at the family restaurant, and never looked back. Yanni fell in love with cooking and furthered his culinary skills at Johnson and Wales with a degree in Culinary Arts & Food Service Management. While attending school in Providence, Yanni worked at Persimmon where he honed his skills in protein butchery, pasta making and cookery, and immersed himself in the art of fine dining. Now, for the past 3 years at Pammy’s, Yanni has brought energy, enthusiasm, and nurturing creativity every day. Yanni loves how integral food is to community and dreams of one day opening his own restaurant with his fiancée, Leanna, a pastry chef. Outside of work, you can find Yanni golfing, BMXing, snowboarding, surfing, working on his car, or sipping an old fashioned.
