The strawberry season wonโt Last Forever! ๐
One of my favorite things about June is the abundance of fresh, local strawberries. Their sweet flavor and vibrant color are impossible to beat, but their season is all too brief.
A few tips from my kitchen:
โ๏ธ Wait to wash strawberries until you're ready to use them. Excess moisture can shorten their life.
โ๏ธ Store them in a single layer in the refrigerator, lined with a paper towel to absorb moisture.
โ๏ธ Have more than you can eat? Hull them, spread them on a baking sheet, freeze, and then transfer to a freezer bag. They'll be perfect later for smoothies, sauces, baking, or homemade jam.
As a chef, I always encourage people to enjoy fruits and vegetables at the height of their season. Fresh-picked strawberries need very littleโjust a bowl, a spoon, and maybe a dollop of whipped cream.
Support your local farms, stock up while they're at their peak, and savor every sweet bite of summer. ๐โ๏ธ
