Now y’all, let me tell you about two love birds, a beautiful old home, and one mighty fine evening in Monroe, Louisiana. ❤️

Last Friday, Bee Bayou Catering had the pleasure of helping celebrate a very special couple at the beautiful Gunpowder House — and if those old walls could talk, I imagine they’d have a love story or two of their own to tell.

There’s just something about an old Southern home, with its grand charm, beautiful gardens, and a little bit of history tucked into every corner. Add two people in love, their family and friends gathered around, and a table set for an elegant evening… well, honey, you’ve got yourself something special.

The evening began outdoors among the gardens with cocktail hour. Guests sipped on "Marry Me" Strawberry Margaritas and Old Fashions while enjoying our charcuterie cups, with a full bar available for everyone to find a little something they fancied.

Then it was time for dinner — and what a dinner it was!

✨ Shrimp & Crab Pasta
✨ Scalloped Potatoes
✨ Southern Green Beans
✨ Roasted Seasonal Vegetables

And now, let’s talk about dessert…

Our famous Sweet Potato Bread Pudding with Bourbon Praline Sauce made its grand appearance, and let me tell you something — that bourbon praline sauce will just about knock the socks clean off you! 😂 It’s the kind of dessert that makes folks go back for “just one more little bite”… and somehow that little bite turns into another helping.

And because one dessert is never quite enough around here, we finished the evening with a Cheesecake Bar piled high with creamy cheesecake and toppings including blueberry, strawberry, apples, caramel, chocolate, pecans, and whipped cream.

Mercy. Yum! ❤️

It was an absolute joy to be part of such a beautiful rehearsal dinner and to help celebrate two people beginning their next chapter together.

From the gardens to the good food, from the cocktails to the sweet treats, it was one of those Southern evenings you wish you could bottle up and keep forever.

Congratulations to these two! May your life together be filled with plenty of love, laughter, family, and a whole heap of good meals around the table. ❤️

✨ A Couples Shower, BBQ Style! ✨

Bee Bayou Catering had the pleasure of being part of such a beautiful couples shower at a gorgeous Monroe residence, and what a wonderful evening it was! 🥂💍

The menu was all about good ol’ BBQ comfort food:

🔥 Smoked Brisket
🔥 Pulled Pork
🧀 Macaroni & Cheese
🫘 Baked Beans
🥔 Potato Salad
🍓 Fresh Fruit Salad
🥖 Rolls

We heard SO many compliments throughout the evening about how delicious the food was, and that always makes our hearts happy! ❤️

But y’all… the biggest hit of the night was our Adult Lemonade Bar! 🍋🍹

The Blackberry Lemonade was a HUGE favorite, but honestly, they loved them all! We paired the Adult Lemonade Bar with our full bar service, and it was the perfect addition to this fun celebration. 🍓🫐🍋

We want to send a huge THANK YOU to our wonderful hosts for trusting Bee Bayou Catering to be a part of such a special night. It was truly our pleasure to help make the evening memorable!

And one of our favorite parts wasn’t even on the menu. 🥰

The love, laughter, and genuine connection in that home were something special to witness. Those are the moments that remind us why we love what we do. ❤️

Weekend highlight: Celebrating Mallory & Landen 💕

Their family deserves all the credit — they went all out to create the most unforgettable night. The dance floor was packed, the drinks were flowing, and the joy was contagious. The band was Sooo good and the cakes were perfect! We’re so grateful we got to be a part of their big day.

Molto Bella Weddings never disappoints. Jordan and the venue team were awesome to us from load-in to last call.

We had the honor of hosting Mallory and Landen’s rehearsal dinner at the beautiful Molto Bella. Heartfelt speeches, so much love, and excitement for their future together.

Guests sipped Mallory’s “Something Blue” and Landen’s Old Fashioned, plus a golden muscadine w**e from their grandfather that was the best I’ve ever tasted.

We passed peach bourbon glazed duck wraps and shrimp cocktail to start, then plated Marry Me Chicken, melt-in-your-mouth filet medallions, fully loaded mashed potatoes, cheesy green beans with bacon, and rolls.

A chocolate fountain with strawberries, marshmallows, pretzel sticks, cookies, and fresh fruit kept everyone happy all night.

Shout out to White Oak Venue in Ruston for their beautiful venue and amazing staff, and to Allison for making everything run so smoothly— it was a pleasure.

Our menu featured Caesar Salad, Shrimp & Crab Bayou Pasta, Roast with Rice & Rolls, Spinach Dip, Peach Bourbon Glazed Duck Bites, and Cajun Sausage & Pineapple. Guests also enjoyed our mocktail bar with Shirley Temples, Strawberry Mules, and guest favorite Frozen Piña Coladas.
