It's springtime y'all, and nothing says spring quite like baby animals, and we are swimming in them here on the homestead. Our chick count is up to 43, ranging in age from 7 weeks to 1 day old. Plus we have two litters of baby bunnies totalling 20, that are 10 days old. Not to mention an incubator absolutely loaded with duck eggs. The kids are absolutely loving life right now, and they are so good about doing their part to take care of all these precious little critters.

Last year James asked for bees for his birthday. All the family came together and made it happen to get him all his equipment, and a wonderful local beekeeper provided a nuc of honey bees for him. With warmer temperatures today we were able to get in the hive to check on them and feed them. We are happy to report that his bees successfully overwintered.

This precious fluffle of baby bunnies was born in January, right as the big ice storm hit. But Mama Marigold made them an excellent nest and kept them warm and dry. These seven cuties have been absolutely thriving and we love watching them cuddle.

I can't believe it's been over 2 years since we last posted. So much has changed so here comes a big update. In 2024 we sold our home in Texas and Teddy was born, at the end of that year we visited my sister and parents who had just moved to Kentucky, and we fell in love with it. Then in 2025 we moved to Kentucky to stay with family while we hunted for land. Now in January 2026 we closed on a beautiful piece of land in Burning Springs Kentucky and we are so excited to start building our new homestead. So follow along with us as we build Gray Fox Homestead 2.0.
