Originally established in 1908 as Rulhausen’s Tavern, the historic building became the iconic Art & Alma’s we know today when Art and Alma Stark transformed it into a classic Illinois supper club during the 1970s. From the original oak back bar and vintage tin ceilings to the old-school hospitality and legendary salad bar, stepping inside feels like stepping back into a golden era of dining.
For decades, families, friends, farmers, travelers, and locals have gathered around the tables at the Century Inn to celebrate birthdays, anniversaries, weddings, Friday fish fries, and countless unforgettable nights.
