Growing up in a Jewish family, my mom would always bake meringue cookies for Passover. She would add chocolate chips too. I always associate these cookies with Passover, even if I forget the story about the angel of death ā€œpassing overā€ Jewish homes who marked their front doors for safety.
I know it’s Easter tomorrow, but I thought I would share what I grew up with for you all. Stay happy & healthy everyone. We really do live the good life. ā¤ļø

There’s a great debate going on between my mom’s version (Tina Lipofsky Friedman) of the traditional Jewish penicillin vs my modern take on Jewish penicillin. Traditional is chicken broth with the usual suspects of onion, celery and carrot. Add the egg noodles and matzo balls, and you’ve got a bland but nostalgic bowl of soup.
My modern twist includes searing the chicken with spices, adding the usual suspects along with potato, deglazing the pan with white wine, adding a parmesan rind and topping with cream and all the delicious green herbs. Add your egg noodles and matzo balls and you get a tasty bowl of goodness.
Which version do you think my boss will like more? Is he a traditionalist or will he cross over to the dark side and devour the modern twist?!

It’s been a minute since actually baking something, working on my website, thinking about the business and working on my menu.
My full time job is consuming and I wish I had more time for everything.
Next weekend I’m working on more 🄐 attempts and spending time with the website. She’s coming along and she WILL be amazing when all is said and done! Until then, butter is my business plan! 🧈

We are so excited to join for their February meet-up. The theme is French Baking. We would LOVE to bake up croissants since we have been working so hard on our recipe, but with a 100+ turnout, it’s too tricky to produce a large batch of croissant in my tiny kitchen!
We opted to test profiteroles! First bake was under and they flattened and looked like pancakes. Same batch but a second attempt on the oven, we got these cuties below!
We are filling them with Cookies & Cream AND a savory one, Buffalo Chicken Dip!
