💛 HELP US LIGHT UP OUR COMMUNITY GOLD THIS SEPTEMBER! 💛

September is Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month, and this year we’re asking our entire community to come together and GO GOLD for our kids.

On September 3rd, we will gather at Amherst Town Hall for a proclamation ceremony officially recognizing September as Pediatric Cancer Awareness Month — honoring every child who has fought, every child who is fighting, and every child who will face this battle.

Now we’re asking our local businesses, organizations, schools, families, and neighbors to help us LIGHT UP GOLD throughout September. 💛

We want families affected by pediatric cancer to look around our community and see GOLD everywhere — and know that they are seen, they are supported, and they are not fighting alone.

This mission is deeply personal to our family.

Our daughter, Sophia Brielle Benintende, battled cancer for two years. Even while fighting her own battle, Sophia wanted to help the local friends she met along the way.

Before gaining her angel wings on May 9, 2023, Sophia started Sophia the Fierce Inc. to do just that.

Today, we continue the mission she began. 💛

Sophia the Fierce Inc. is an all-volunteer organization dedicated to providing Respite • Research • Relief to pediatric cancer families.

This September, help us make GOLD impossible to miss.

Let’s light it up for our kids. 💛

In 2024, Sophia the Fierce Inc. was honored to win the Cellino Truck Wrap Contest in 2024, and it couldn’t have been done without the incredible support of our fierce community. Because of YOU, we received almost $50,000! 💛🎗️

Being an all volunteer organization, every single dollar went directly to local families across Western New York, helping ease the financial burdens pediatric cancer can bring. 💛🎗️ Your support provided much needed moments of respite, brought endless smiles to brave children, and helped fund research being done at Roswell Park through Dr. Joyce Ohm’s research lab.

So what is the Cellino Truck Wrap Contest?

Each year, Cellino Plumbing hosts a community contest where local nonprofits compete to have their organization featured on a wrapped Cellino truck along with receiving a generous monetary donation. The winner is determined by community votes.
