Alright folks, we've got a special announcement to make!!! Sara's Sweet Spot is under a rebranding and location change! You can still find us in the Nantahala Gorge, across from Nantahala Village Resort. This change is a big one for our family, as the new location will provide space to be open year-round!!! That's right, you'll be able to get your scoops, and a whole lot more, any time of the year now! Stay tuned for more announcements as we progress with building the new business!!! Thank you so much for all of your support! We will definitely miss being riverside to wave and cheer you on while you paddle by, however we believe this will be a much better fit all the way around. Good morning everyone!!! This is our final weekend of being open for the season!!! Be sure to swing by and grab yourself a scoop or two, I sure would love to get it all gone! It's a beautiful weekend in the gorge, the colors are really popping! GAF is in full swing. Come enjoy some sunshine with us!

The closure of the Nantahala Forest will be lifted on Friday, October 11th. That means the Nantahala River and our beautiful national forest will open back up to welcome you back.

Moving Forward
Our local community has been very hard hit - economically more than physically. Businesses are open, but the cancellations and concern about traveling here have hurt so many who depend on late Fall revenue to survive through the winter. Please encourage friends to visit us here in the far western counties.

The outpouring of concern from people all over is also indicative of how much people hold western NC as a special place. If you have friends asking about how they can help if they are coming to spend time here, please let them know that the hardest hit areas are starting to move from general donations to much more specific needs. There are organizations from the Red Cross, to many local organizations - including relief workers from here in the Nantahala Gorge community, that can be supported.

Once here, plan on staying a night in a local accommodation or campground, and shopping and dining locally to help support the local businesses that have become economic victims of the hurricane. You can graciously support the heroic relief efforts happening while also making time for yourself in nature, in the mountains and on the river.

While our hearts continue to fill with sadness and love for the plight of so many in our community, we now open our hearts a little wider for those who are facing the threat of another devastating hurricane in Florida. May we do for you what so many have done for us.

Hello everyone!

As a family of a small business in Swain County NC, we would LOVE to welcome you to our small town! Yes, we did get some flooding, but we are safe here and safe to visit. We are doing our best to return back to normal.

There is food on the shelves at the stores but we still encourage you to bring some in, along with cash. Our gas stations have fuel. Our roads are ALL open!

Please come support our local economy as we are mostly made up of small businesses, and this month was supposed to be our busy time to carry us through the winter months.

We are happy to have you here!

ATTENTION: Long post here!!!

We were blessed during this storm and had no damage to the Sweet Spot! We will continue with our original plan to stay open through October, open Saturdays and Sundays from 1-7.

Please remember we have a food pantry stocked as well and welcome anyone still in the gorge who may be in need, to come see what's available. I'm here to support where I can and so with that being said, the Sweet Spot can be used as a drop off point for any donations you may have and want to drop off. I will personally be sure to get them out to the Restoration House in Bryson City where they are distributed to those in need. Hot meals are also served by the Restoration House 2x a week. Please help spread the word.

I will be using the Sweet Spot as a place to sell my glass art as well. If you're wanting to check out my inventory, come on down.

I want to say how proud I am of the community as a whole. It may be a mess now, but WNC will make a comeback from this, together.

As the season starts to slow down and even ending for some, we wanted to let you know what our plans are for the Sweet Spot. With GAF being at the end of October this season, we are taking the opportunity to try something new and remain open until the final weekend in October! You will notice some major changes with our flavor options. Many flavors will be phased out, we will have fewer options but we will also be introducing some new flavors to go with the 🍁seasonal changes 🍂 we are already seeing here in the Nantahala Gorge. Starting this upcoming weekend we will have 🎃 and Deep Dish 🍎 Pie scoops available! We will continue to offer Maple 🍁 Walnut as well! I've had several inquiries about 🍑, so I've decided to give that a spin! Looking forward to continuing to serve up those smiles! 🍨🥳🍦🍃🍁🍂🍎🎃🍑
