🗝️ ONE YEAR BEHIND THE DOOR | OUR STORY

Same space. A whole new story.

One year ago, what you see today as The Secret at Center was little more than an empty space filled with possibilities.

But behind that transformation is a story some of you may not know.

After more than 20 years in the hospitality industry, I had always dreamed of creating a place of my own. Somewhere with character, warmth, exceptional food, handcrafted cocktails, and an atmosphere unlike anywhere else.

What I never imagined was that my son, Calvin, would be the one to help make that dream a reality.

Already a young entrepreneur, Calvin believed in my vision enough to take a chance on something completely new.

He bought the business. I created the concept. And together, we brought The Secret at Center to life.

What began as a walk-through of an overlooked space inside the German American Business Center became months of planning, renovations, countless decisions, long days, and late nights.

Our vision was to create something unexpected. A hidden little escape right here in Brunswick, where people could gather, enjoy great food and cocktails, listen to live music, celebrate special occasions, and make memories.

Looking at these before-and-after photos, it’s incredible to see just how far we’ve come.

But the greatest transformation wasn’t just the space.

It was watching a dream become a reality — and then watching our community embrace it.

This past year has brought wonderful guests, new friendships, special celebrations, unforgettable moments, and plenty of lessons along the way. Like any new business, we’ve faced challenges, but every experience has helped shape The Secret into what it is today.

As we approach our first anniversary, I want to thank everyone who has walked through our door, supported us, recommended us to friends, shared our posts, and become part of our story.

Calvin helped make my dream possible. Our community helped make it something special.

And that’s why we’re celebrating more than just one night.
