I’ve had to keep this to myself for 4 days and it’s been killing me.

Cafecito Social, a Guatemalan coffee brand roasted in Guatemala and brewed in Brooklyn, was named one of Zoom’s 2026 Solopreneur 50! 50 solo-built businesses selected from nearly 3,000 across the country.

I left a career I loved and took a chance on an idea. No investors, no partners, no business degree. Honestly, not even a business plan (not advocating for this). I know we have something special. But hearing it from someone else? Feels damn sweet.

Guatemala has the best coffee in the world. I want everyone to know it and fall in love with Guate in the process.

My cousin Isabela is 27 years old. She’s a fashion designer from Guatemala. She has Down Syndrome. A few days ago she spoke at the United Nations for World Down Syndrome Day. Her speech was called “The Power of Belonging.” She is pure love and she is reminding us of the most important thing, we all belong, wherever we are. Isabela and my aunt are my heroes. Not because of today , today the UN got to see how amazing Isabela is and what an amazing mother has been beside her along this journey. Su charla se llamó “El Poder de Pertenecer.” Isabela es amor puro y nos recuerda lo más importante, todos pertenecemos, donde sea que estemos.
Isabela y mi tía son mis heroínas. No solo por hoy, hoy las Naciones Unidas pudieron ver lo increíble que es Isabela y la madre tan extraordinaria que ha estado a su lado en este camino.

We’re looking for someone who takes pride in good coffee and good energy to join us at Smorgasburg this season.
The role:
You’ll be behind the bar at our Friday WTC and Sunday Prospect Park locations — pulling shots, connecting with customers, and representing Cafecito Social at one of NYC’s best markets. Setup and breakdown.
The details: 2 days per week · +-24 hours total ·$225-400/day
You’ll need:
•Barista experience (you know your way around espresso)
• NYC Food Handler’s License
• Valid Driver’s License (we have a van, you’ll help with transport to/from markets)
• Reliability — markets don’t wait
Warm energy that matches the brand
