Brooklyn Roots is all about people, history, and some good food. If you've been here before, you know it is a little bit of a scene, it's not your typical restaurant. I know one thing for sure my father would have been here all the time, with the Sinatra playing and the old school brooklyn attitude we have. This is Brooklyn Roots.

Happy Wednesday! Tonight on special, Chef went out of his way and came in a little earlier this morning to kneed out some Sweet Potato Gnocchi - he's paired it in a Sage & Butter sauce and topped with a bit of Parmesan Cheese. A surprisingly light dish (by our standards) that can absolutely be shared. Maybe even order it as an app for the table. Go wild, who are we to tell you how to have a good time

We've settled into our new digs - come stop by for a drink & say hi. Take a lap around the floor. Enjoy the room as much as we do

HAPPY FRIDAY! We are happy to announce that we are back on the grid & have a new phone number - we've missed hearing your voices calling up for takeouts & reservations so we made sure that we didn't go another day without hearing that phone ring.

As you may have heard, Sunday's 3rd Ave Festival has been postponed a week due to incoming weather || doesn't mean the party stops. We'll be opening up, like every Sunday, at 2PM ready to serve up some Sunday Sauce for the first time in our new spot.

Doors open at 4PM today - come unwind after a long week with some pasta and 🍷. We're no doctors, but we think it would help

Happy Tuesday! We really really tried so hard to get in a little early today but we unfortunately will not be able to open up for takeout/delivery tonight - our phone situation has not cleared up in time for us to properly be able to accommodate & take orders. We will, 1000%, undoubtedly, without question be opening up tomorrow at our new base @ 8602 3rd Ave. The neon sign is up in the window, pictures are being polished and hung - we're only a day away!

It's been a while since we've able to say this - DOORS OPEN @ 4PM TOMORROW!

We will see you on the corner of 86th & 3rd!!

Happy Friday!! To say we're a little excited would be a huge understatement - the bar is being aligned, chairs are being arranged and tables are finishing up their drying from a fresh stain. We're going to be working all throughout the weekend so that we don't deprive Bay Ridge of their Vodka Sauce for any longer.

Chef is itching to cook - we can't wait for you all to come in and see the new digs. 5 more days!!!!

Happy Thursday everyone! The moving continues day in & day out so that we make sure to hit that Wednesday deadline of opening back up at our new 8602 3rd Ave location! We can't thank our amazing staff who has shown up every morning til night to pitch in & make this our new home. You've probably seen us walking back and forth, hands full bringing over everything from our old house. We couldn't have gotten this far would our staff ❤️

We'll keep on rocking here - just be patient, everyone's dose of Sunday Sauce will be back before you know it!!

Happy Wednesday!! Things are starting to take shape at our new home at 8602 3rd ave, we have the entire crew working nonstop to ensure we're up and running by next Wednesday Sept 23rd.

We can't wait to get our new home all ready to go for the neighborhood to enjoy. We'll keep you all posted on the progress!!

Today we want to step back from our usual fun, whimsical posts about food to acknowledge one of our darkest days as not only Americans, but also as New Yorkers. We remember each & every soul lost not only that day, but all that we've lost since from the aftermath.

Let us not take for granted all the freedoms we enjoy every day & always remember the ones that fought for those freedoms

Happy Sunday everyone!! Today we wanted to honor our fallen comrade Luisa as our Sauce Boss! Nights at Roots just haven't been the same without her, especially Sundays. We are almost at our goal of assisting Luisa through her recovery, but let's make a real statement and blow right past that goal!!

We all miss you terribly Luisa - staff & guests can't wait to see you back serving the neighborhood with the best smile & best earrings

Please note that Roots will remain OPEN at its current location (8620 3rd Ave) until further notice, nothing will change throughout the summer

The Corner will close its doors on 8/22 to start it's makeover into the new Brooklyn Roots. We are extremely excited for the future & can't wait to keep the party going at 8602 3rd Ave!

Happy Monday! We were just sitting around and thinking about our Seafood Abbondanza & figured hey, why not remind you all on how much of the ocean is harvested for this dish - Clams , Mussels, Lobster Tail & Shrimp over a bed of linguini || whether you like in Red or White W**e Sauce, Spicy or Mild - the Abbondanza is always a dish that hits

Happy Summer Stroll Friday! We wanted to go all out for today so on special we have a Fried Pizza topped with Fried Calamari in Arrabiata Sauce! We'll also be serving up Rice Ball Specials in Sunday Sauce Bolognese, topped w provolone & ricotta! Not to mention:

- Spinach Ravioli in limone sauce w/ cherry tomatoes, asaparagus and shrimp
