The Wooden Legs Brewing Company name is tongue in cheek homage to Judge Wilmot Wood Brookings. Judge Brookings is a significant figure in history of South Dakota. The county and city were named after him although he only visited the city twice. In February 1858, Brookings rode a horse from Sioux Falls to the Yankton area during a blizzard. His horse slipped and fell into Split Rock Creek in the fr

eezing weather. Brookings made it safely to Yankton, but his wet legs had suffered such severe frostbite they both needed to be amputated. He spent the rest of his life using a pair of squeaky, wooden legs.

🏆🍕August Pizza Showdown🍕🏆

Grady’s Classic American Deluxe Pizza came out on top after a month long battle with the Nashville Hot Pizza. Now he’s set to face off against a retired fan favorite, the Jalapeño Popper!

For those of you who don’t remember, this pizza starts off with a cream cheese base before being topped with mozzarella, bacon, jalapeños, and finished with a drizzle of raspberry sauce! It’s available starting TODAY, and only one of these masterpieces will live on to see September.

🏆🍕July Pizza Showdown 🍕🏆
Dylan’s Nashville Hot pizza took the gold in the June showdown, retiring Rachel’s Chicken Caesar Salad Pizza. In July he’ll be taking on Grady’s Classic American Deluxe Pizza!

Our new competitor starts off with a white sauce base then covered with mozzarella before being topped with ground beef, onion, tomato, pickles, cheddar cheese, and a sprinkle of black pepper before being finished with a post bake sprinkle of lettuce and a 1000 island drizzle!

Only one will survive to compete in August, so be sure to stop in and try both tasty creations while you can!
