This has been weighing on me after a phone call I had gotten while we were so busy today.
I just want to take a moment to say how incredibly proud I am of our waitresses and our entire team at Broadalbin Diner. ❤️
We are a small-town diner, and there are times—especially during our busiest hours—when we are absolutely packed. Our waitresses work HARD. They are running from table to table, answering phones, getting drinks, helping customers, cleaning, and doing everything they can to make sure everyone is taken care of.
Are we perfect? No. Can something occasionally be missed when we are extremely busy? Of course. We are human.
But I will ALWAYS stand behind my employees when I know how hard they are working.
If you ever come into our diner and feel that you were overlooked or have a concern about your service, PLEASE come to me directly while you are here. I am almost always there, and I would much rather have the opportunity to address the situation and make it right in person.
Calling afterward to yell, insult my waitresses, tell me they “suck,” and threaten to tell people not to come to our restaurant does not solve anything. There is a respectful way to handle a concern, and I will always listen to someone who comes to me respectfully. Sundays mind you there is a wait !
Small businesses depend on their community, and words can absolutely affect a business and the hardworking people behind it. Please remember there are real people working behind that counter who are doing their best—especially on the crazy busy days.
To my waitresses: I see how hard you work, and I appreciate you. ❤️
And to our customers who continue to support us, show patience when we're slammed, and treat our staff with kindness—THANK YOU. You are the reason we get to keep doing what we love. ❤️
