The Casual Inn Restaurant "Where Friends Meet" was established in 1968 by Peter and Kathleen Benevides and has been family owned ever since. The business started as a sandwich shop not only for Peters Kaiser Aluminum Factory co-workers but so he could also earn extra income to send his oldest daughter Kathleen to college. During that time the restaurant attracted families, young couples and Roger

Williams University students; a tradition that continues today. Executive Chef Carmina Benevides who married Peter and Kathleen's son, Peter John, learned much of her cooking techniques and style from her in-laws. Today, Carmina still uses the original menu while adding her own Portuguese and Italian flare along with local flavors of the freshest meat and seafood. Our off the beaten path location has given us the reputation by many Bristolians as "Bristols BEST KEPT SECRET."

Due to the extreme heat and the temperature in our kitchen, the safety and well-being of our staff has to come first.
