What a night 💚
Last night's Battle of the Bowls event turned out even better than we ever imagined.

Four incredible local culinary teams stepped into our kitchen for a night of friendly competition to help raise awareness for Hunger Action Month.
Captain Joes Grill
Preppy Pepper - Winner for Best use of Ingredients
El Arbol Taco - Best Presentation Winner
Brighton Bar & Grill - People's Choice Winner
Each team brought its own creativity, flavor, and personality to the table, making a signature bowl inspired by the challenge of transforming surplus ingredients.

And although the dining room was full of guests enjoying their delicious creations, our favorite part of the night happened in the kitchen.

Teams of chefs, who came in to compete against each other, ended up working side by side- sharing space, helping one another, laughing together, and genuinely enjoying the night. While our guests were building community around the tables, community was being built behind the scenes too.

That is exactly what why we created The Ivy Table...great food is simply the vessel that we use to achieve a greater good.

And, as always, none of it could have happened without our amazing volunteers who jumped in wherever they were needed and helped make the whole evening run beautifully. We are so grateful and blessed.

We called this our "first annual Battle of the Bowls"...
But after a sold-out crowd, an incredible response, and so many people already asking when we’re doing it again, we’re starting to wonder if once a year is enough?

Maybe quarterly? Different chefs. Different restaurants. Different challenges. What do you think?

Thank you to everyone who cooked, volunteered, attended, laughed, voted, and gathered around the table with us. It is a night we will talking about for some time!

What a fun way to give back!

We learned today that the team at Lakeside Service Company recently held a friendly competition among their five departments: Who could fill their boss’s bucket with the most money?

The prize for the winning department? Getting to pie their boss in the face! 😂

All the money was then pooled together, and this morning they donated it all to us.

We are so grateful for the gift, and love that you found such a creative way to build connection among your staff, while giving back to the community.
