Guests at The Cottage are encouraged to walk the trail with unique lake views. The trail has a bridge, bench, and waterfall. The waterfall slows to a trinkle when we haven't had rain for awhile. Come stay with us and grab your own "cheesy" video.

Catering has become a big part of our business. We cater business luncheons, celebrations of life, fundraisers, family gatherings, showers, pretty much any group that needs fed.

Weddings have become one of my favorites because I like to talk to the couple and find out THEIR vision for their first meal as husband and wife. Beau and Evan Bayh made lunch at The Bee-stro part of their Father's Day celebration. Although we had never met, Beau and I have been talking about doing a cooking video together, so it was nice to get to meet him. In case you don't know, Beau is running for Indiana Secretary of State. Evan was governor when Andy was sworn in with the Indiana State Police and later became U.S. Senator. It was a joy to meet them, talk with them and hear a bit about their story. The back story of the people who come through our doors is always so fascinating to hear. Today, I was in the dining room more than usual and got to hear more backstories of our guests. We're all just so much more alike than we are different.

This is so much our life. I am in the commercial kitchen icing 300 cupcakes. It's storming. There is a knock on the kitchen door. It's a very nice young central American teenager asking if they can shelter here for a little bit because of tornado warnings. I say sure and go to get Andy who meets me in the pantry. Five gentleman with only one (the teenager who has spent the last year as an exchange student in Pennsylvania) speaking English. All very nice. Luckily, we had Heat and Eats for them to heat up and they are going to stay the night in The Cottage. Andy found out they are from Ecuador. I found out they believe in God. I am going back to icing cupcakes while they watch soccer on the tv in the dining room and Andy changes over the Cottage's bed linens from our last guest. Lol. I swear our life is weird and so unpredictable, but I love it!

Baked Crab Rangoon Bites are on the Sunday Brunch Buffet. The great thing about Sunday Brunch is outside of the Sausage Biscuits and Gravy, Bacon, and made to order omelets, the dozen other items are all chef's choice allowing me to make fun items like this. It's all from scratch. Serving today until 2:00.
