Today, on what would have been his 99th birthday, we honor 👑 Billy Ryan! ☘️ An Irishman through and through, he had a way of making everyone feel at home the moment they stepped through the door. ☘️ Jeanie Ryan's Cafe was never just a bar—it was a gathering place filled with stories, laughter, and lasting friendships. ☘️ His number one saying at closing time was, “If you had a good time, tell your friends. If you didn’t, then tell me!”—a line that perfectly captured his humor, his pride, and the care he had for everyone who came in. ☘️ We raise a glass today, richer for having known him, celebrating a life well lived and a legacy that lives on in every shared memory. Condolences to the Poulton family on the death of Rich, (Richard) affectionately called “Pumpkin” because of his strawberry blonde hair. God Speed my friend until we meet again. Detective Poulton was a crew member with the NHPD’s Marine Unit rescuing stranded mariners in New Haven’s Long Island Sound.

Richard Thomas Poulton of East Haven, beloved husband of 47 years to June Poulton, died on July 30, 2024. Richard was born in New Haven on April 23, 1946, to the late William J. and Margaret M. Poulton. In addition to his wife, he leaves behind brothers William Linda Poulton
