I’m gonna go ahead and warn you now… this is a long post but so much to say
I’m gonna start by saying….
WHAT A BLESSING! ❤️

We are officially wrapping up the Mary Katherine Sanders Family Benefit, and honestly, I don’t even know how to put into words what the last few days have meant to us. ❤️

For those of you who did not know Mary Katherine and her family, here is a picture to put a face with your thoughts and prayers for this dear family. ❤️
Over the last few days, our community came together in an absolutely incredible way. So many people donated, purchased Boston butts, employees volunteered their time and helped cook, packed orders, shared posts, prayed, and simply showed up.
Because of YOU, we were able to present the Sanders family with $15,680.67 to help them during this difficult chapter they are facing and new life they are learning to navigate without Mary Katherine and William. ❤️🙏🏻(This includes a $2,500 matching donation from Modern Woodmen.)
But that number represents so much more than money.
It represents love,Kindness, Generosity, Compassion,Prayer, Community and GOD. I am most speechless when I try to explain what a blessing this benefit was in so many ways.
I wish we could have captured the scene this morning—the outpouring of love that flooded our parking lot for HOURS. Cars were backed up past the high school and as far as we could see toward the red light. The parking lot was completely full, with people patiently waiting to turn in and pick up their orders.
People came from near and far, they waited, they gave, they helped, they prayed, they showed up and it was just… God. ❤️
God took what started as an opportunity to help this dear family and turned it into something so much bigger than we could have imagined.
The Sanders family’s response to all of you was how incredibly grateful they are and how much the love and support have meant to them. 🥹❤️
We truly believe God placed this opportunity in our path, and we are so thankful He allowed us to be a small part of something so meaningful. We don’t feel like we did anything extraordinary. We simply had the opportunity to help and our community answered the call.
To every single person who supported this benefit in ANY way:

Thank you to everyone who gave, served, prayed, shared, purchased, donated, cooked, delivered, encouraged, and loved on this family.
Thank you to those who showed up when you didn’t have to.
Thank you to those who gave when you could have kept it for yourself.

And thank you to every person who helped make this possible, whether your part was big or small.

We’re sorry for the inconvenience, but we will not have Beef Brisket tonight.

Our smoker was completely full last night cooking Boston butts for the Mary Katherine Sanders Family Benefit, so we simply didn’t have room to get the brisket on.

DAY ONE of the Mary Katherine Sanders Family Benefit! ❤️

🔥 104 Boston butts cooked last night!
And we still have TWO MORE NIGHTS of cooking to go!

We’ll be firing the smokers back up tonight and tomorrow night to finish this huge cook. The amount of support shown for Mary Katherine’s family has been incredible, and we are so thankful to everyone who purchased, donated, shared, and helped make this happen. ❤️

📍 PICKUP REMINDER: Please pick up on your scheduled date at 9:00 AM at the Smokehouse. If you did not receive a scheduled pickup date, your pickup is Saturday at 9:00 AM.

Please help us stay organized by arriving at your scheduled time. With this many butts to get into the right hands, it truly makes a HUGE difference!

Boston Butt Fundraiser Pickup Information

Our scheduled pickup dates are:

Thursday, October 1 9:00 AM
Friday, October 2 9:00 AM
Saturday, October 3 9:00 AM

I have tried to personally contact everyone with your scheduled pickup day. If for some reason I missed sending you a message, your pickup day will be Saturday, October 3.

For everyone who has already been given a Thursday, Friday or Saturday pickup date, please come on your scheduled day at 9:00 AM.

This fundraiser has grown into a VERY large event, and we are so incredibly thankful! In order to keep everything organized while also keeping the restaurant running smoothly, we ask that you please respect your scheduled pickup time and be there at 9:00 AM.

Because of the size of this cook, we have even had to bring in a refrigerated Freightliner truck to give us enough cooler space while still being able to prepare food for the restaurant!

We will be set up at the trailer in the parking lot at 9:00 AM, ready to get everyone served and keep the line moving.

Our original goal was 300 Boston Butts, and because of the amazing support from our community, WE EXCEEDED OUR GOAL! ❤️

We cannot thank you enough for supporting the Mary Katherine Sanders family. The love and generosity shown by this community has been absolutely incredible.

PAYMENT REMINDER:
If you have not already paid, please contact me if you are able to pay through Venmo or Cash App. The more orders we can have prepaid, the less cash we will have to handle during pickup and the smoother everything will flow.

Lots of important information regarding the Boston butt benefit. Please read entire post. Also at this time we have had to stop taking any new orders. If you would like to be put on the list in case someone does not pick up we can do that or we can cook more the following week and continue the fundraiser, if this is your case please inbox me and I will put you on waitlist/future list.

WOW — we have now EXCEEDED 300 BOSTON BUTTS! 🐷❤️ Praise the Lord!!

Because of the overwhelming response, we have had to divide pickup into THREE DAYS in order to accommodate cooking schedules and cooler space.

If we have contacted you and requested that you pick up on Thursday or Friday, thank you so much for working with us and helping make this process easier.

👉 If we have NOT contacted you, your pickup day is SATURDAY.

For ALL THREE PICKUP DAYS, we are asking everyone to please, please be at Smokin Pig at 9:00 AM for pickup.

We respectfully ask that you honor this pickup time. Once we open for regular business, we are extremely busy, and it becomes very difficult for our staff to stop restaurant operations, run back and forth for fundraiser orders, and still keep everything organized. We are very blessed to stay busy, and your cooperation means more than you know!

💰 PAYMENT INFORMATION

If you have ordered and have not yet paid, please inbox me for our Venmo or Cash App information. With the large quantity being prepared, we would greatly appreciate having as many orders paid in advance as possible so we can ensure every Boston butt that is ordered is picked up.

If you are paying at pickup, please bring CASH — correct change if possible.

We are so heart broken to share that little William has now joined his mom at the pearly gates of heaven leaving behind a younger sibling and father! Thank you all so much for the support, we have exceeded our goal of 300 Boston butts for the benefit next weekend!!
