CANDY & CAKE

Directions Website

CANDY & CAKE Candy & Cake is a multi-concept bakery offering custom cakes, desserts, Hershey’s ice cream, and our hot kitchen, Shawarma Express.

We specialize in catering and family meals, proudly serving our community as a multi-year Reader’s Choice winner. Candy & Cake is a vibrant, award-winning bakery and dessert café located in Bourbonnais, Illinois, known for blending American comfort classics with Egyptian-inspired cuisine — all wrapped in a warm, family-friendly atmosphere.
🍰 What Candy & Cake Offers
A full-service bakery crafting everything from cupcakes, pies, and cake pops to custom cakes for every occasion. A restaurant and dessert bar serving both American favorites (burgers, wraps, loaded fries) and authentic Egyptian dishes (shawarma, falafel, kofta bowls). A Hershey’s Ice Cream parlor with over 24 premium flavors, sundaes, milkshakes, and seasonal specialties. A rotating menu of signature creations, like the Dubai Pistachio Chocolate Bar, Konafa Cups, and Snow Cone Cake Pops — treats that made Candy & Cake a social media favorite.
🏆 Community & Recognition
Candy & Cake is deeply involved in the local community, participating in festivals, school fundraisers, and charity events. They proudly support local sports teams, schools, and organizations, often donating portions of sales or creating custom fundraising programs (like the popular Thanksgiving Pie Fundraiser). They’ve earned the 2024 Reader’s Choice Awards for Best Dessert and Best Family Dining — recognition that celebrates their passion for flavor, creativity, and community connection.
💖 The Story Behind the Name
Founded by Christeen Botros, Candy & Cake began in 2017 as a home bakery inspired by a love for creative desserts. The name reflects their first menu — full of candy-inspired cupcakes and cheesecakes — but over time, it evolved into a full restaurant and dessert destination that brings families together for food, fun, and sweetness under one roof.
