A message from the artist: “I have been writing PUSH in the street since 2008. I do graffiti because I have to. It is an uncontrollable urge of self expression. It is a physical manifestation of my creative soul. I am obsessed with the feeling it gives me. Painting canvas is cool, but nothing compares to the rush of getting up in the street. I remember being a kid who felt trapped by the world, like a rat in a maze. Seeing graffiti in the streets was like a beacon of hope, a glowing exit sign, that they really just went out and did that. So I started to go out and risk my physical freedom for spiritual freedom. Maybe someone who feels trapped will see one of my rooftop pieces and say, ‘wow, we really do have free will, and go exercise it for themselves. You can be whatever you want to be in this life. Don’t let anyone tell you different. I’m writing my own story, one tag at a time and I will never stop.”
