Soooo Morgan messed up. 🫠 And I owe a couple of you an apology!
Yesterday, I made a small batch of caramel apples and decided to tweak my recipe a bit. We use REAL butter in our caramel (because it tastes amazing), but it can cause the caramel to soften and slide as the day goes on.
So, naturally, I thought I could outsmart the caramel by cutting back on the butter. 😂
Mission accomplished… the caramel didn’t slide.
Unfortunately, once it cooled, it also turned into a rock. 🙃
Thankfully, a few customers let me know, and they were SO incredibly kind about it. I was able to make things right for most of the apples sold from that batch, but there were two other apples sold that I wasn’t able to track down.
If you purchased a caramel apple from us yesterday and the caramel was hard as a rock, PLEASE pop by so I can make it right! No awkwardness, no hassle. I want you to enjoy your treats the way they’re meant to be enjoyed!
The lesson? I’m going back to my original recipe and committing to making fresh caramel apples daily rather than trying to stretch a batch across multiple days.
Thank you for being so kind, patient, and supportive while I figure all of this out. I take a lot of pride in what we make, and while I’d love to pretend I have everything figured out, the reality is that I’m still learning, too. ❤️
I’m so grateful to have customers who treat a small business owner with kindness when things don’t go perfectly. You guys are the best.
Please give us until about one for fresh caramel apples as I have to make a fresh batch of caramel- thank you again!
