Bryan and I decided to be adventous today.
We got on the Blue Ridge Parkway on Hwy 321 heading north on the parkway. It was a beautiful drive. The roads are newly paved, and not alot of traffic. The first part of the parkway near Blowing Rock with trails and many overlooks. As we drove the elevation was lower with beautiful woods and meadows. There were less trails and less overlooks and more of a beautiful drive. We saw more old log cabins and barns. We saw Mabry Mills, Droughton Park, Blue Ridge Music Center and ended in Meadows of Dan. We saw lots wild life including many deer with fawns. Our best surprise was to have not one but four Golden Eagles fly over the road in front of us. They were amazing to see this large bird with very large wing span to fly in front of us and into the woods. They looked like jets flying around the trees. This was amazing to see because we have never seen the Golden Eagle in the wild. They are beautiful dark brown with fleck of lighter color feathers on their backs and wings. We saw these around 7pm. Of course we did not get a picture we were in complete awe. It was a amazing day.
