Ok folks, break out the sweaters, grab a blanket and a chair and head out to the last music on the lawn. We will go out with the crowd favorite, The Harris Brothers. Jump start your homecoming weekend with some great music and old friends, not to mention, drinks to warm your spirits! Muisic under the leaves, Friday 10/21 begins at 5:30. Thanks to all who have joined us this season, it's been a fun time for all and we look forward to next May to do it all over again.

It looks as though the rain will move out by Friday. It will be a little cool, but The Lucky Strikes will be on the lawn beginning at 5:30. This will be the next to last music event for this season. Grab a jacket and come out and enjoy.

This Friday looks to be a five golf ball day. Soul Benefactor will be joining us on the lawn. Hopefully their soulful sounds can tame old man winter that tried to halt music last week. Let's enjoy fall temps and great music. Festivities begin at 5:30.

DRIVE SOUTH
The Bluegrass Band Will join us this Friday on the lawn. This will be their first show with us, so please come out and welcome them to our event. Here's a little about them:

Band leader Don Hogan (guitar/lead vocals) has a passion for Bluegrass music and he has assembled a group of fine pickers to join him in one of the hottest new bluegrass groups to hit western North Carolina in some time. Playing classic 'grass and mixing in some inventive versions of 'grassed up contemporary tunes, this group comes at the listener hard and heavy.

Joining Don on Banjo is the impeccable Tony Williamson. Tony is the consummate banjo player mixing a fine blend of styles that will remind you of Earl Scruggs and Bela Fleck... at the same time! (We don't let Tony play guitar too much because he'd blow us all away on that instrument too!!!)

The newest member of the group is Fiddle Player Bart Laney. Bart – who doubles on the mandolin - brings a load of experience as a bluegrass musician with his hard driving fiddle chops. Having played in various groups around the Southeast, Bart has played with a Who’s Who list of bluegrass greats.

Rounding out the group is Joseph Hasty doing his thing on Upright Bass and tenor vocals. Joseph is the leader of his own JAZZ band called: “Centerpiece Jazz”… his jazzy influence is noticeable in his walking bass playing style.

We will be having music this friday, weather permitting. We will keep our fingers crossed that the rain clears by 5:30 so that everyone can enjoy the Harrris Brothers for their last visit with us this season. We only have roughly 5 more Fridays until this season of music comes to a close. Come out and enjoy if you can.

You've been asking, now they are finally back. The Harris Brothers will be here this Friday to jump start your holiday weekend. Come out and enjoy their great music and some fall like weather. Music on the lawn will go on through Sept and the first few weeks of October, clocks ticking so hope to see you.
