Smoked Walleye Stuffed Pepper

Delicate smoked walleye paired with the soft, charred sweetness of roasted bell pepper. Fragrant jasmine rice and fresh seasonal vegetables keep it bright, while the Cajun espagnole sauce brings out a rich, peppery depth and subtle, warm spice.

🍷 A dry Riesling would make a lovely pairing here. Its crisp acidity balances the richness, while a touch of fruit plays well with the smoke and warm Cajun spice.

This weekend was full of surprises. 🎉

We didn’t have many reservations on the books, so we weren’t quite sure how things would go. We thought the heat might keep people home. Then we thought the rain might wash away our walk-ins.

It definitely didn't. 🕺🪩💃

Regulars and newcomers alike, you folks had your hearts set on Bakery & Pickle, and apparently nothing was going to stand in your way. Not the weather. Not even that quirky hostess trying to bemuse and befuddle you with her antique shop shenanigans.

By Saturday, we had a full house and a busy bar all night. Our awesome new bartender, Jeffrey Dean (JD), kept the drinks flowing smooth and steady, with plenty of style. Watching him work on a busy night, I swear I see motion trails as he moves behind the bar like Neo in The Matrix. 🥷

A busy night hits different when you aren’t expecting it, but our team always finds the rhythm and comes together to give our guests the very best we can.

Normally, we host a lot of date nights, anniversaries, birthdays, and other celebrations. This week was more about people coming out to have a good time just for the heck of it. And we are so here for it! 🤩✨

Many of you shared that you heard about us through friends and family, your local hair stylist, or even just found us randomly on the internet.

Whatever brought you through our door, we’re awfully glad it did.

You helped us have a really fun weekend.

Harvest season is picking up at the farm, which means fresh new dishes built around the flavors of summer. In the coming weeks, we’ll be seeing broccoli, squash, a few varieties of beets, tomatoes, peppers, and more making their way from the fields to the kitchen.
