The Oar, located at the Boat Basin on Block Island's stunning Great Salt Pond, is a must-visit destination offering a casual yet unforgettable dining experience. This iconic restaurant serves lunch and dinner daily, combining classic American fare with a fabulous sushi menu. Perfect for families and friends, The Oar offers something for everyone, from creamy clam chowder and buttery New England lobster rolls to juicy burgers and a full sushi bar. Relax on the back deck, soak in the breathtaking views of the Great Salt Pond, and indulge in a leisurely meal or one of our signature Block Island Mudslides. Whether you’re savoring fresh sushi or enjoying a laid-back lunch, The Oar provides an unparalleled island experience. Our talented sushi chefs can create a custom platter with 24-hour notice. While we don’t take reservations, we’re happy to answer questions or help arrange your unique tradition of hanging an oar. Call us at 401-466-8820 (seasonal) for more details!
