At our restaurant, we take great pride in serving food that is made from scratch and prepared fresh to order. Unlike many establishments that rely heavily on prepackaged or highly processed ingredients, most of our menu is crafted in-house using fresh products and traditional preparation methods.
Our chicken is always fresh, never frozen, and the same goes for our hamburger and pork tenderloin. If you hear pounding coming from the kitchen, that's our team hand-tenderizing chicken and pork tenderloins to ensure the best possible quality. We hand-bread many of our menu items—including chicken fried chicken, pork tenderloins, chicken bites, mushrooms, and shrimp—after you place your order. Even our tater vines are freshly prepared when the order reaches the kitchen.
Because of our commitment to freshness and quality, preparing your meal can take a little longer, especially during our busiest times. We believe the extra effort is worth it to provide a product we're proud to serve and that you can enjoy.
Many of our specials and menu favorites, such as roast beef and pulled pork, require hours of preparation, with some recipes beginning the night before. Each day, we carefully estimate how much food to prepare based on past experience, customer trends, and anticipated demand. While we do our best to plan accordingly, there are times when certain items sell faster than expected.
A recent example was our pork steak special. The preparation process takes several hours to achieve the tenderness and flavor our customers expect. Based on previous sales, we prepared what seemed like an appropriate amount. However, this week we sold out much earlier than anticipated.
Occasionally, despite our best efforts, we will run out of certain items. When that happens, it may not be possible to prepare additional portions immediately, especially during peak service hours. Our kitchen team works hard in a limited space while serving both dine-in guests and carryout orders, and there are practical limits to what can be prepared at a moment's notice.
There are also times that we cannot get certain products we use on a weekly basis. A recent example would be breaded okra. We have been unable to get any for the past two weeks. These things are unfortunately out of our control.
We kindly ask for your understanding when this happens and encourage everyone to remember that our servers have no control over inventory levels or preparation times. They work incredibly hard to provide excellent service and ensure every guest has a positive experience, and we greatly appreciate the kindness and respect shown to them.
Thank you for your patience, understanding, and continued support. We hope this gives you a small glimpse into the care, planning, and hard work that goes into serving fresh, homemade food in our small-town restaurant. We remain committed to bringing you the quality meals you've come to expect, and we look forward to welcoming you back again soon.
