Papa Sal’s

Papa Sal’s We make Italian-American style food. When you come visit us all you have to do is order and pay at t We have something on our menu for everyone.

As a proud family-owned and family-run business, we take a lot of pride in the food we prepare. Our cuisine is authentic Italian-American and is prepared and cooked by an Italian from the Old Country. Sal came from Sicily to the United States in 1980 and brought his love of cooking. From the sauce to the dough, all of our delicious dishes are made from scratch and are served fresh. Along side him is his wife and two daughters that all share the love of cooking. With quality food, you and your family will love what we have to offer.

When we closed due to Sal's diagnosis, we were uncertain about the future of the building and who might buy it. Initially, leasing wasn’t our first choice, but after meeting Katie and her family, we knew it was the right decision. Katie, like Sal when he first started, dreamed of opening a business and building a career with her family doing what they love. We’re happy that our beloved restaurant will continue as a place the community enjoys, now run by a family that the town supports. It’s comforting to drive by and still see it as a restaurant. We wish Katie, her family, and their team much success.

We have exciting news! 📣

Part of the charm of a small town is that news travels fast. So, this will not be a surprise to many of you. However, we are excited to confirm that we will be relocating to Papa Sal’s location. As of right now, our tentative opening date will be June 2nd.

This is a bittersweet and exciting move into a location where we hope to grow, solidify our roots, and continue to serve the same menu you love with the same smiling faces you have known over the last 15 years. My sentimental side will miss the charm and accessibility of our downtown location. My children grew up here, and we’ve made lasting connections with those we have met over the years. But we hope you are willing to follow us to continue those connections and create more in the years to come.

I would like to thank my landlord, Mike Lamantia, who took a chance on a 26-year-old girl 15 years ago. I appreciate you letting me use your space to create my business, pursue my dream, and provide for my family. Your kindness will not be forgotten.

I want to thank Sal and Bonnie for being so gracious and accommodating. They created a fantastic business, and we hope to continue to make delicious food and provide excellent service in the beautiful location they built together.

I also want to thank my employees for sticking with me all these years. This move would not have been possible without all of you. It is only because you are all exceptional at what you do that I felt comfortable making such a big move forward. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Finally, I would like to thank my customers, who have been amazing to us for all these years. Without your loyalty, patience, and patronage, we would never have gotten this far. I don’t think I can ever really express what your support has meant to me. Thank you, thank you, thank you!!!

Keep checking in. We will keep you all posted as we move forward and get a more concrete opening date. We will do our best to show you our progress as we prepare for the opening. Again, thank you to all who have made this possible. I have been given more than I deserve, and I will do my best to keep providing the food and service you love.

Sal wanted take a moment to reach out and express his heartfelt gratitude for the ongoing support you've shown him during this challenging time. He’s deeply touched by the cards, well-wishes, and kindness from everyone.

As some of you may know, Sal has been undergoing chemotherapy. He’s been having his good days and bad days, but he remains incredibly thankful for the love and encouragement he’s received.

With Thanksgiving approaching, Sal wanted to send his warmest wishes to you and your loved ones. He misses his customers dearly and thinks about all of you every day. The work, the people, and the memories are never far from his mind.

Thank you again for being such an important part of his journey. Wishing you a wonderful holiday season.

Warmly, Sal and Family

Dear Valued Customers,
We deeply regret to inform you that, due to unforeseen circumstances, last weekend marked the end of our journey. Sal is starting chemotherapy and, as a result, we are unable to continue with this weekend as planned.
We are profoundly grateful for the incredible support and love we received from all of you. Your presence and encouragement last weekend meant the world to us and reminded Sal why he cherished every moment of what he did.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your understanding and support during this challenging time.

Dear Friends and Valued Guests,
After more than 45 years of serving this wonderful community, we are writing to share some difficult news. A couple months ago Sal was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. He has made the heartfelt decision to retire and close the restaurant to focus on his health, family, and the upcoming arrival of his grandchild.
This decision has not been easy, but it is necessary for him to prioritize his well-being and cherish these precious moments with his loved ones. We deeply appreciate the incredible support, kindness, and loyalty you all have shown over the years. Your presence and patronage have been a true blessing.
As we step away from this chapter, we kindly ask for your understanding, respect, and privacy during this transition. Your support has been a cornerstone of our journey, and we are truly grateful for it. Without this community and the ones that extend further throughout Indiana county, it never would have been possible without you.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Sal and family.

With that being said, we will be open the rest of this weekend and we will be closed Thursday September 19th for a doctors appointment. We will be open Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. We will be permanently closed after September 22nd. So stop in or call and show your support to Sal and grab some of your favorite dishes while supplies last and again thank you all so much.

Dear customers, we wanted to answer your questions and concerns that we have been receiving the past couple of weeks. The short answer yes, we still accept cards. No, you will not get charged extra if you pay with a card instead of cash. We like to do specials for everyone, but the credit card companies charge you a percentage when using a credit card so we thought instead of losing money doing specials on a card we could still give out specials using cash only. Most businesses and companies charge YOU the percentage that the bank charges them on your credit cards but we will not do that and we don’t want to do that so don’t be afraid to call or stop to get food!
