The City of Arkansas City is seeking licensed and insured contractors, where applicable, to support a new housing improvement project funded by a Community Development Block Grant.

The project will rehabilitate approximately nine residential properties and demolish approximately two blighted residential structures. General contractors and specialty trade contractors are encouraged to join the project’s bidders list.

“This grant gives us an important opportunity to improve local housing conditions, address blighted properties and strengthen our neighborhoods,” said Josie Dolenz, Municipal Project Manager for the City of Arkansas City. “We encourage qualified contractors from Arkansas City and the surrounding area to contact us and learn how
they can participate.”

DOOLIN STUDIOS LODGE ANNOUNCED FOR BLACKWELL

Brand-New Extended-Stay Studio and One-Bedroom Suites Planned for Spring 2027

BLACKWELL, OKLAHOMA — A familiar property at 1018 West Doolin Avenue will soon begin a new chapter as Doolin Studios Lodge, a newly developed extended-stay lodging community scheduled to welcome its first guests in Spring 2027.

The redevelopment will preserve the building’s recognizable roofline and windows while introducing a completely renovated interior, refreshed exterior, new landscaping, improved lighting and newly resurfaced parking.

With convenient access to Interstate 35, Doolin Studios Lodge will offer an affordable and comfortable alternative to an ordinary hotel room or a long-term apartment lease.
