It isn’t always easy to adapt when things get hard. When the weight of change is too much, it’s hard not to snap sometimes. Liz Coleman, a Shift Lead at Perry Place, remembers her pursuit to be adaptable and bend with life’s struggles every day. She expresses this through a tattoo on her arm, an artsy representation of a bending, unbreakable dancer with hands reaching out to represent openness. 🦢

“Being rigid and hardheaded isn’t a choice,” said Coleman. “When life has me all bent out of shape, I need to be willing to reach out to other people for support.”

Our next Stand Out Student Employee is Luciana Desir! Luciana is a Student Assistant Manager at Owen's Food Court and she is a Junior studying Computer Science. Luciana enjoys reading, video games, listening to music, watching anime, building legos, and Pokémon cards. Some of her clubs include GobbleCraft, XA Ministry, Valorant at VT, and Marvel Rivals at VT. She can't live without her friends, family, and God. 💫🦋

Luciana's favorite thing about dining is the environment and friends and some of her favorite food items include the Cholula chicken at Qdoba, the chicken bacon ranch croissant at Frank's, and the Farmhouse bagel from Bruegger's Bagel.
