The Drip is 27 years old today!!! It’s traditional to acknowledge anniversaries and milestones at five, ten, twenty years and so on, but 27 is the day of my birthday, and therefore, is a number close to my heart! I’m feeling quite nostalgic about it, even though my practical (and somewhat cynical - who me??!) tendencies tell me that it’s really just another day in a sea of days that continue to pass.

But days don’t just pass do they? The minutes and hours of our days in the intimacy of a coffeehouse are filled with myriad moments of warmth, surprise, camaraderie, vulnerability, and a love between baristas and patrons for a space that we call our third place. Our days are actually formed by the “passing” of people in line beside us, of coffee across the counter, and of shift after shift of doing what we have chosen to do.

My child, who is now a man, asked me recently if I’m proud of myself and what my partners and team have accomplished, and undoubtedly the answer is yes. But mostly, what I feel when we come to these yearly milestones is deeply humbled, and truly grateful to have landed in a career that just makes people so dang happy every morning! What a privilege it is to help so many people start their days with a fine cup of coffee and a have a great day!

So, as always, thanks for being the best patrons on the planet and for supporting us through thick and thin.

Last week we held an all team meeting, and we’d like to share part of what we discussed! When distilled, our mission involves two things: loving coffee and loving people. ❤️

We love coffee beyond its taste and its effect on our industriousness. We love the science behind it, the technique required to pull a perfect shot, & the specific ratios of ingredients to enhance espresso in a drink rather than overpower it.
We love ALL people and strive to show kindness to our coworkers & customers, which can look like many different things: it could be remembering someone’s name; remembering someone had a difficult day recently and checking up on them; or simply meeting someone with a smile the second you lock eyes. Whatever it is, we want our actions to reflect love and kindness in a way that is palpable when someone walks in the doors.
Coffee creates community and that is something that is never lost on us! Our goal is to make fantastic coffee to share with you, and also share life, stories, joy, hardships, jokes and everything in between, with each and every one of you.

Ah yes, lots of summer love for our new drink specials! 🏖️ We know lots of people expected the Lemon Bar to come back… and we are sorry it’s not officially on the menu.. But do you notice anything? Maybe a familiar drink still on the menu?
