Today, Pary donated blood. Something many of you may not know is that our daughter is currently battling blood cancer.

Due to ongoing treatment, there is a critical, ongoing need for blood donations. To be completely transparent, her daughter’s transfusion, which was scheduled for yesterday, was canceled due to the current blood shortage. That means more days without what her body needs, and more days of feeling unwell.

This isn’t unique to her. This is the reality for many patients right now, and it’s why donating blood matters so much.

Her blood bank receives donations through the American Red Cross, which is where we’ve been encouraging people to donate. That said, any blood donation, anywhere, truly helps and supports patients across the system.

If you’re able, please consider scheduling a donation with:

• Our Blood Institute
• Your Blood Institute donor centers

And if you’re connected to an employer, church, school, or organization that could host a blood drive or promote this message, that kind of collective action can make a huge impact right now.
