The Cortado originates from Spain in the 20th century.
Cortado comes from the Spanish word “cortar” which means “to cut”. Its name is represented in the way the milk cuts through the acidity of the espresso. The Cortado is evenly portioned at 2 oz espresso and 2 oz steamed milk. This drink has a smooth surface with a minimal amount of foam. Next time you order one, consider pairing it with one of our scones!
