About the Chef....
Thai Thai Restaurant's chef, Alisa R Khongnok, aka "Rung", has been preparing food for over 40 years. Starting at age 12, when she would cook for her family, Alisa has worked to create a unique, yet traditional, style of Thai cuisine that has won awards around the nation. Formerly an owner / chef of three Thai restaurants in Hawaii and Washington,
she has over 25 years experience cooking in a restaurant setting. Alisa's Hilo, Hawaii, based restaurants have won awards for being the state's best Thai Restaurant, having the best Thai chef, and for having the best Curries. Alisa believes that good food starts with fresh ingredients and ends with careful, loving preparation. You will find many traditional favorites on the menu but don't be surprised to find some unique recipes that are of her own invention. Alisa takes pride in her cuisine and you can rest assured that she will never use MSG in preparation of any dish served here at Thai Thai Restaurant.
