Here’s where I’m heading in a couple of days, the mining town turned artist haven of Bisbee. This photo was taken by Maria Kovary several years ago. I don’t know if the town got any moisture out of this weekend’s storm but I sure hope so. Hope everyone in the state did. I like this shot because it reminds everyone that Bisbee is America’s southernmost mile high city, nestled in the Mule Mountains. I’ll be speaking at the Copper City Library on Tuesday at 5:30, so come out and help an old man celebrate his birthday. I’ll also be walking the hilly streets and sampling some tasty restaurants, then drinking in Arizona’s tiniest saloon. I’ll probably be too tired to squeeze in a mine tour or ghost tour but I’ve done them both. Bisbee has plenty of things to see and do. It’s a town with its own special brand of energy, stacked in gulches and on mountain slopes, straddling some amazing history. Now that’s an Arizona road trip! Thanks for the photo, Maria!
