The Broken Knife - Bold Sandwiches

> 🚨 OFFICIAL STATEMENT FROM THE BROKEN KNIFE

FREE THE PASTRAMI.

The Broken Knife at Elysian Gardens will be temporarily closed while we take care of some permitting.

When we first started serving food at Elysian Gardens, we were operating as a vendor at an event venue. Since then, this little sandwich operation has grown into something that looks a whole lot more like a full-time restaurant.

Apparently selling giant pastrami sandwiches five days a week will do that.

So, we need a different permit.

Rather than continue operating while we work through that process, we've decided to close temporarily, get everything squared away properly, and then reopen as a fully permitted restaurant at Elysian Gardens.

We appreciate everyone who has found us, come back for lunch, brought friends, told people about us, and helped this ridiculous little sandwich shop grow faster than we expected.

This is just a short intermission. We'll keep you posted, and we'll be back as soon as the paperwork catches up with the pastrami.

Until then…

From Chris: PLEASE READ AND SHARE. We're cool right? So, I can talk to you like a friend.

*****Place your orders early or even the day before***** because WE ARE BLOWING UP!!!

Nobody has sandwiches like this in Birmingham. Point blank.

Today, we had a line and almost an hour wait at one point. We sold out of pastrami. We ran out of our regular to go boxes. We fed offices. We fed Army units. People who tried us last week brought all of their friends.

I'm stocking up for next week. You haven't had pastrami until you've had mine. You can't get Italian chicken cutlets like this south of New Jersey. The Italian cold cut and chopped Italian sandwich, the brisket, the Reuben, all of these sandwiches are destination worthy. All of the bread is fresh baked. We cook the chips to order with our own original seasoning.

I'm not bragging. I'm warning you. Go online and order NOW for Monday. WE. WILL. SELL. OUT.

Oh, and Wu-Tang Clan, you eat for free. I'll give you somebody else's sandwich if I have to.

I love you all.
