Fall is coming. š
And with it comes all the things we love ā football Saturdays, cooler evenings, school events, practices, birthday parties, pumpkin patches, packed calendars, and kids who somehow need to be three places at once.
But thereās another side of this season that we donāt talk about as much.
The mental load gets heavy.
Youāre remembering the permission slip.
Finding the missing cleat.
Answering the emails.
Working all day.
Keeping up with laundry.
Getting everyone where they need to be.
And then, at 5:30ā¦
āWhat are we doing for dinner?ā
Again.
Sometimes it isnāt the cooking that breaks you.
Itās having to make **one more decision** for one more person when youāve already made a thousand decisions that day.
Thatās the part of Katieās Plates I wish I could bottle up and show people.
Weāre not just delivering food.
Weāre delivering the moment you open your refrigerator and realize:
Oh. Dinner is already handled.
You donāt have to stop at the grocery store.
You donāt have to figure out what to make.
You donāt have to chop, cook, clean the kitchen, or give in and spend another $60 at the drive-thru because everyone is starving.
You heat up dinner.
You sit down.
You feed your family something homemade that you can feel good about.
And for one little part of your day, **someone took care of you.**
That is why we do this.
Because I know how much it matters when youāre the person who is usually taking care of everybody else.
Your kids probably wonāt remember whether you made every dinner from scratch.
Theyāll remember sitting around the table with you.
Theyāll remember you being there.
And if Katieās Plates can give you a little more of *that* this fallā¦
then weāve done exactly what we set out to do. š
Let us take dinner off your plate this week.
