Southbound welcomes Prarthana Pandey Upadhyay to Funk Brunch: Juke Jam!

After moving to Birmingham, Alabama, she dreamed of introducing her culture through food. What started as a passion has grown into a way of connecting with community. Birmingham has welcomed Dalle Momo LLC with open arms, embracing not only her food but also her story. The city’s openness and support have given her the confidence to share the authentic tastes of Nepal while building a home away from home.

Every dish she makes is a reflection of her heritage, her journey, and her gratitude. She considers it an honor to share the flavors of Nepal with a community that has made her feel accepted, encouraged, and inspired every step of the way.

CHEF’S CUT: When asked “If you had to cook one dish to represent the South to someone who’s never been, what would it be?” She responded “Black eyes peas and i love making Nepali curry with potatoes and ginger with it.”
