The Moka Pot was invented in Italy in 1933 by Alfonso Bialetti. It was named after the Yemeni city of Mocha. The Moka Pot works by utilizing the pressure induced by boiling water. The water then flows thru the funnel, into the grounds, thru the strainer, and into the resovoir.

Moka pot brew instructions:

1. Boil water in a kettle or on stove.

2. Pour the preheated water into the moka pot base (up to the fill line)

3. Fill your filter basket to the top with freshly ground coffee.

4. Put the filter basket into the moka pot base.

5. Attach the top resovoir to the moka pot base.

6. Put the moka pot on the stove and turn to medium heat. Leave the lid open.

7. Coffee will begin to brew when the water boils. When brewing is done, no more liquid will be coming out of the spout. Take off of the stove and run cold water on the base to stop extraction.

8. Add water and/or milk to taste.

9. Enjoy!

There are a few methods to making Turkish coffee, but this one's my favorite:

1. Measure your water and place on medium-high heat. Let the water warm, but not boil.

2. Add coffee and sugar. Do not stir yet.

3. When the water is warm and the coffee sinks, stir it and turn the heat to medium-low.

4. Eventually the coffee will begin to foam. Using your heat source, try to make the coffee foam as much as possible but do not let it boil.

5. Serve and enjoy!

If you have a scale, then we recommend a 1:9 coffee to water ratio by weight, but you can adjust the ratio based on how strong you want your coffee.

Pro tip:
Most Turkish coffee that you can buy from stores is already stale (since it was roasted and ground long ago). Buy your coffee fresh from us and we'll roast and grind it to order.

One of my favorite brew methods!

The Hario V60 is a 60Β° cone-shaped dripper used to manually brew pour over coffee. This method takes roughly 3 minutes and produces some great tasting, light-bodied coffee.

When brewing with a V60, we recommend a 1:16 coffee-to-water ratio and a medium-fine grind size.

Stay tuned for an instructional video!
