First and foremost, we want to say THANK YOU to everyone who follows Sergeant Spuds, supports our small business, shares our posts, and comes out to see us at events. Your support means more to our family than you could ever know.
Many of you have probably noticed that we haven't posted our usual schedule this week. The truth is that our family has been navigating a difficult situation involving an elderly family member who is in need of a higher level of care. Over the past several weeks, we have spent countless hours coordinating medical appointments, paperwork, care options, and making sure their needs are being met.
Because of this, we've had to make the difficult decision to postpone or cancel several events so we can focus our time and energy where it's needed most. As much as we love serving our customers and being out at events, family has to come first.
That said, we WILL be at Freshwater Beer Company in New Bern tonight from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM serving up your favorite loaded potatoes! We'd love for you to stop by, grab some dinner, say hello, and help us finish out this stretch before we take some time away.
After tonight, we'll be off for at least the next week, to take care of this and it also happens to coincide with our daughter's graduation from nursing school and a trip that was previously planned. We continue working through the larger family issue and appreciate your patience, understanding, and support while we focus on making sure our loved one gets the care they need. We feel we are close to a resolution.
Life has a way of reminding us what matters most. Businesses, events, and schedules can always be rescheduled. Family cannot.
Thank you for standing by us, for supporting small businesses, and for understanding that sometimes the most important thing we can do is take care of the people who have always taken care of us.
