Before the first cup is poured, there are people making MoCo happen. 🤎

Coffee gets brewed. Supplies get stocked. Counters get wiped. Dishes get washed. Orders get made. Customers get greeted.

And so much of it happens because someone chose to give a few hours of their time.

Our volunteers are the important part of what keeps MoCo going, including plenty of work you might never notice when you stop in for your morning coffee.

So today, we just want to say thank you.

To everyone who has served a shift, washed a dish, made a drink, filled a cooler, welcomed a customer or helped wherever you were needed, MoCo is better because you're part of it. 🤎☕

📚☕ Join us on next Saturday, October 17, from 10 AM–12 PM as we welcome local author Jane Albrecht Yates to Mohawk Coffee House to celebrate the release of her children’s book, A Year on Bon Air Drive!

A retired elementary reading specialist with more than 20 years of experience, Jane has spent much of her life helping children discover the joy of reading. Her new book takes readers back to 1961 through the eyes of nine-year-old Janie, sharing a heartwarming story of family, friendship, faith and the little adventures that make childhood special.

Jane and her husband, Rev. George Yates, also have meaningful ties to our local community. George previously served as pastor of Bethel and other churches throughout Lawrence County.

❤️ Stop by to meet Jane, have a book signed and hear a little about the inspiration behind her story!

Bring the kids, invite a grandparent, or grab a friend and enjoy a morning of coffee, conversation and celebrating a local author.

Because sometimes you just need a little something beautiful to brighten your day. 💛

We have fresh flowers to share at MoCo this afternoon from our community garden - MoCo Grows! Stop in, grab a little bouquet and take some sunshine home with you. 💐

Keep them for yourself or surprise someone who could use a little extra kindness today. While flowers last, so stop by and grab some!

One of the things we hear from potential volunteers is, “But I don’t know how to make coffee!”

Good news... we can teach you! And if making drinks isn’t your thing, that’s okay too. We can always use extra hands with barista support, cleaning and all the little things that help keep MoCo running each day.

Our volunteers come to MoCo with different skills, different schedules and different reasons for serving. Some love making drinks. Some are great at welcoming customers. Some jump in wherever an extra set of hands is needed.

What they have in common is a willingness to serve and be part of our MoCo community. 🤎

If you’ve ever thought, “Maybe I could volunteer there,” we’d love to hear from you! Whether you can help regularly or just occasionally, there may be a place for you at MoCo.
