Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

I have about 5 different coffee traders who source coffee for Chazzano Coffee Roasters from all around the world. There are very few coffee producing countries from which I have not roasted coffee. I haven't roasted coffee from Cuba, Venezuela, China, or Nigeria. All of those countries could be coffee producers, but they have significant issues that have harmed their ability to produce quality coffee. Recently, I found a source for coffee from Myanmar. I purchased 3 different single origin coffees (45 pounds of each). This may be the last time that I find coffee from Myanmar- they've been experiencing a horrific civil war there for decades.

Myanmar Lat Pan Pin Catuai Snow Natural: This one has notes of butternut squash, marshmallow sweetness, pu-erh tea, milk chocolate, and chocolate frosting. $36/pound

Myanmar Lat Pan Pin Catuai Passion Anaerobic Washed: This is the first coffee time we've roasted coffee from Myanmar. There are only 45 pounds of this coffee available! As an espresso, it reminds us of candied raspberries, tart red raisin, jolly ranchers, and dark cherry chocolate tartufo. As a pourover, it has notes of raspberries & cream, marshmallow fluff, and crème de menthe. $36/pound

Myanmar Shwe Sann Catimor Black Honey: It's difficult to decide which one of the Myanmar coffees is my favorite. This coffee is so incredibly smooth with light grape notes, wheat crackers, and marshmallow. $36/ pound

I will also have a 3-pack available of all three Myanmar coffees (3 half-pounds) for $50 available on the website in case you want to experience them all.

Labor Day Weekend:
My employees are awesome, have been awesome, and will always be awesome. Therefore, we're closing Chazzano Coffee Roasters on Friday, September 4, as well as Monday, September 7 in honor of Labor Day. Have a great weekend.

Jewish Holiday Hours:
This year, most of the Jewish Holidays fall on the weekends! Chazzano Coffee Roasters will be closed on Monday, September 21, in observance of Yom Kippur.

Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

We now have three kinds of Ice Cream: Chazzano Coffee Ice Cream, Hojicha Ice Cream, and Matcha Ice Cream. We always have a large selection of Cold Brew by the cup and by the bottle. You require awesome Swiss Water Process decaffeinated coffee? We have Decaf Colombia, Decaf Costa Rica, Decaf Brazil, and Decaf Guatemala. We have 12 different single origin coffees, 17 different specialty teas, and 6 different homemade vegan hot cocoas. So, life is awesome.

However, life is also very interesting. We've weathered COVID, the stock market crash of 2008, and could probably still do well with an alien invasion or visit. However, there's a major coffee and cocoa warehouse in NJ that just merged with a larger shipping company. And, the merger is a mess. When I order coffee from any of my awesome coffee traders, I can expect to receive the coffee within 3-5 days (It used to be 3 days!) Now, the window is 7-10 days, maybe longer. I have plenty of coffee beans, but not the insane variety that we usually have. Our next shipments will see the return of Brazil Cerrado, Mexico Chiapas, Sumatra Mandheling, Haiti Zombie Desert, El Salvador Pacamara, and Ethiopia Sidamo. I've also ordered coffee from Myanmar (formerly Burma)!

Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

Happy Independence Day! Chazzano Coffee Roasters will be CLOSED on Friday, July 3, and we will reopen on Monday, July 6 at 10am. Although the cafe will be closed on Friday, we will try our best to get all coffee shipped and delivered before the holiday and perhaps on Friday, too.

Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

This Thursday night is the beginning of the Jewish Holiday of Shavuot (meaning "Weeks"). We count 49 days from the 2nd night of Passover to Shavuot. On Shavuot, we commemorate the receiving of the Torah. On Thursday night, we'll stay up all night long studying Torah, Talmud, and other Jewish texts. Some of us stay up all night and then go to synagogue prayers at sunrise. In fact, Jewish services that last all night long are the reason that coffee became popular in the world. There were Jewish prayer societies that would pray and study at midnight during the middle ages. They then asked the most revered rabbis of the the time whether coffee, which really served as a drug in that time, is Kosher for Jews. Thankfully, they agreed. Coffee was traded by Jews traders throughout the middle ages and became a staple in Europe and throughout the world. We've been celebrating this holiday for over 4000 years! The observance of this holiday certainly helped to popularize coffee.

Chazzano Coffee Roasters will be closed on Friday, May 22, and on Monday, May 25, Memorial Day.

All deliveries and shipments should be placed by Wednesday, May 20, 12pm, to guarantee shipping and delivery by the holiday.

I want to thank the families of the men and women who have sacrificed their lives to keep our country safe and free. I also want to thank the men and women who have and continue to keep our country free and prosperous. May God bless you all.

Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

Chazzano Coffee Roasters will be CLOSED on Thursday, April 2 & Friday April 3 in observance of Passover. We will re-open on Monday & Tuesday, April 6 & April 7.

There will be NO local deliveries on Wednesday, April 1. Shipping orders must be received by Tuesday, March 31 before the holiday. All orders received after that day will be shipped and delivered on Monday, April 6.

We will also be CLOSED on Wednesday, April 8 & Thursday, April 9 in observance of the last 2 days of Passover.

The Kosher for Passover Cold Brew bottles will be ready for purchase on Monday, March 30.

Our coffee is Kosher for Passover, including the Swiss Water Process decaf coffees. The cafe will be made Kosher for Passover on Sunday, March 29. Do not bring inside the cafe any outside beverages or food (kosher or otherwise) from Monday, March 30 to Tuesday, April 6.

Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

I wish you a Merry Christmas and a Happy Hanukkah for you and your families. Chazzano Coffee Roasters will be open on Monday, December 22 & December 23, 10am- 4pm. Instead of calling in your order, I would highly recommend for you to order online or visit us at the cafe because the two days before Christmas can be the busiest days of the year.

We will be CLOSED from December 24, 2025 to January 1, 2026, and reopen on Friday, January 2. Although the cafe will not be open on December 24, I will be fulfilling last minute orders for local delivery and shipping.

Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

We've been so busy this year - we forgot to celebrate our 16th anniversary on October 20, 2025. On October 20, 2009, we opened the cafe in Ferndale. We're also celebrating our 3rd year in Berkley in January 2026! We are extremely grateful for your support, love, and friendship during these 16 glorious years.

We will be CLOSED from December 25, 2025 to January 4, 2026, and reopen on Monday, January 5. We may close early or not at all on December 24 for my employees who celebrate Christmas.

All shipping orders should be placed by December 18th. All delivery orders should be placed by December 23.

Remember, we ship coffee across the USA and deliver around 30 minutes around the cafe and 30 minutes around my home in Mount Clemens. You may also place an order for pickup at the cafe. Please place your orders online during this busy holiday season.

Dear Chazzano Coffee Community,

I have extreme gratitude every morning. I have a great family, great friends, an awesome business, and I'm a healthy 56 year old on my way to a black belt in Karate. I truly have a balanced and beautiful life. Throughout the day, especially when someone disappoints me - a driver who creates dangerous situations, people who place their shopping carts a few feet away from a shopping cart return, or when someone asks for extra cream and sugar in their Chazzano Coffee - I remember all of that gratitude. I appreciate Thanksgiving because it forces all of the family to spend one meal together. I also appreciate the 24 hours of cooking that goes into a meal that lasts for one hour.

I hope that you and your family have a joyous and healthy Thanksgiving on Thursday, November 27. We will be closed on Thanksgiving Thursday as well as Friday, November 28. Have a great weekend. I will be delivering and shipping coffee until Wednesday night, November 26. Any orders received after 2pm on Wednesday, will be shipped and delivered on the following Monday.

Here are a few new coffees that we're expecting in the next week:
Tanzania Peaberry, Haiti Blue Zombie Desert, Decaf Costa Rica Tarrazu SWP, Dominican Barahona microlot, Honduras 18 Rabbit microlot, Bolivia Peaberry, and more Harrar!

Ethiopia Yirgacheffe Natural: This natural processed coffee has notes of grape, smoke, darjeeeling tea, faint vanilla, and rich tannins. This is very different from the Washed Yirgacheffe! $28/pound

Rwanda Lake Kivu: This coffee shines as an espresso with notes of ginger cookies, molasses, mulling spices, dried prunes, and golden raisins. As a French Press and Pourover, we're tasting fruity pebbles (cereal), raisins, oranges and peaches. This is a city roast, but it's balanced in its complexity. $26/pound

Brazil Bourbon: You'll love this coffee as an Espresso, French Press or Pourover with its creamy walnut notes and buttery finish. I missed this coffee! As a latte, it tastes like an almond croissant. $24/pound
