Friday was our final service - we are exhausted, a little freaked out but hanging in there. We can't thank our community enough for coming out, some 3-4 times in our last week, to have final moments with us that were so meaningful. Phone calls, cards and a few handmade gifts. WE love you all so much and hate to be asking more of you - unfortunately, we still need to pay some of our purveyors that have been our backbone for all of these years - especially our produce provider. If you can help with anything at all, we would be most grateful.

It is with deep regret and sadness that we must announce the closure of Babette. Our last day of business will be October 31st. Like so many of our friends and fellow small business owners, we just could not make the numbers work.
Between three different locations, Babette has served Berkeley for 14 years. We will host our 22nd and final wedding at the end of the month. It has been a great honor to serve you all, meet your children and grandparents, be a part of your most important celebrations.
We will miss cooking for you all and more than anything, we will miss the beautiful community that has gathered around the Redwood Tree, supported the incredible musicians who we have had the great pleasure to spotlight and our regulars who came for the food, the love and a little bit of grace in these tumultuous times.

Joan, Patrick, August, Karen, Mya, Kimberly, Theea, Jason, Tessa, Elvis and Dani - and all of the former employees who helped us build a business that we are very proud of.

There are 4 more Wednesday’s left for music under the stars. Ben Goldberg is a local treasure and exceptionally talented clarinetist. Each week Ben will play with a different ensemble - these are rare appearances and we hope you can catch one or more of these special evenings.
