To be chef-led is about more than what arrives on the plate. At The Hive, it starts with the heart of the kitchen.

Yesterday, Executive Chef Micah Klasky was honored with the Capi Peck Acting Out Against Hunger Award for his outstanding efforts fighting food insecurity in Arkansas: a recognition that speaks to the values at the foundation of his work, both in and beyond the kitchen.

Micah believes in letting the ingredients lead, often saying, “we let the fields decide what’s on the table.” That same care extends beyond the farmers and producers who shape our menu to the people and communities we have the privilege of feeding. From bringing award-winning High South dining to Bentonville, to providing meals through 2nd Street Pantry and partnering with Rethink, care and integrity are central to how we think about food.

In 2026, Micah became the first rider since Chef Cycle returned to raise $100,000 in a single campaign year. Of his years fundraising for No Kid Hungry, he calls it “the best thing I’ve ever done in my life.”

That is what chef-led means to us: culinary excellence rooted in place, a deep respect for the people behind every ingredient, and a belief that feeding people well means caring for them in every sense.

We’re setting the table for Outstanding in the Field on Oct 10, 2026 in Bentonville, Arkansas.

At The Momentary, where contemporary art spills into open space and imagination roams free, we’re setting a table that feels more like a living artwork than a dinner. Inspired by bold installations and gallery walls that pulse with color and meaning, diners will gather alongside a feast crafted by our Executive Chef Micah Klasky of The Hive at 21c Museum Hotel in partnership with Outstanding in the Field.

About Outstanding in the Field 🌾
Outstanding in the Field was founded by Jim Denevan in 1999 as a radical alternative to the conventional dining experience. Rather than source ingredients for a restaurant, they bring the restaurant to the source.

Beginning with a humble dinner on Jim’s brother’s farm, their culinary caravan has now reached all 50 U.S. states and 24 countries around the globe – with tables set in vineyards, beaches, meadows, fishing docks, and city streets in addition to a long list of organic and sustainable farms.

They are honored to have welcomed some of the world’s most renowned chefs and culinary artisans to join in and cook in their field kitchen.
